Crate House was built as design installation and circular exhibition space for Markta during Vienna Design Week 2022 at Palmenhaus Vienna.
We presented new circular packaging concepts for Markta’s VIENNA DESIGN WEEK - Urban Food & Design Challenge 'Think about the Box‘. The installation displayed a snapshot of an ongoing design process of the Markta collection, a sustainable packaging concept for their grocery delivery boxes. Based on the use of standardised circular vegetable crates and insulation bags developed in collaboration with Bieri Tenta AG.
The bags are made from recycled food-safe lorry tarpaulin after it‘s use as an insulation curtain on Swiss food transport lorries.
True to the circular economy focus of 2022’s Urban Food & Design projects, our installation and exhibition space Crate House was fully integrated back into Ifco’s SmartCycle System.
